JOB DESCRIPTION

As an IC Layout Engineer, you will lay out bipolar and CMOS analog and mixed-signal IC designs to the company’s standards using the company’s IC proprietary processes as well as foundry processes, following engineers’ schematics and requirements.  This work involves active collaboration with a project engineer (to assist with layout issues affecting performance) and with process engineers to ensure proper functionality and reliability of the device.  It also involves using Tanner tools to verify that the layout exactly conforms to the schematic and complies with the design rules.  Also required, on an as needed basis, is the creation of component cells (pads, transistors, resistors, capacitors, etc.) for the Tanner library that conform to existing process design rules.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor Degree, preferably in drafting, design or electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with IC layout
  • A basic knowledge of analog electronics is required
  • Knowledge of Cadence and Mentor Graphics layout tools required. Tanner is preferred.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing technology is preferred
